BEST is a non-profit organization working in Tanzania since 2001 with Registration no 41655.

Mission
BEST is committed to socio-economic empowerment of SMEs and micro entrepreneurs through business management training and consultancy, gender awareness raising and provision of credit.
Overall goal
BEST goal is to alleviate poverty among the micro-entrepreneurs and small-scale farmers through the provision of gender sensitive business management skills, advisory services and enable them to access credits.
Specific Goals
- Increasing the income of SMEs and micro entrepreneurs by providing business development services so as to improve their living standards
- Promoting networking with other development actors for sharing experiences and securing support.
- Promoting gender awareness for increased participation of women and other marginalized groups in business entrepreneurial development
- Improving the institutional capacity of BEST for effective and efficient delivery of services
Core Values
BEST believes in equal opportunities for all, and gender sensitive interventions that will create business opportunities for entrepreneurs in particular women, who have been left behind by men.
Core themes
BEST has three major themes:
- Gender sensitive, economic and social empowerment of small scale entrepreneurs.
- Promotion of SMEs and micro entrepreneurs.
- Provision of quality client centred Financial and non-financial Business Development Services. (BDS)
Overall objective
BEST works for poverty reduction through stimulation of and support to SMEs. BEST provides both financial and non-financial Business Development Services in the form of (financial) business loans and (non financial) training/advisory in business management skills.
Specific Objective
- To provide financial and non financial Business Development Services (BDS) in the form of business loans and training. Advise on business management Skills for the aim of reducing Poverty among small scale entrepreneurs.
- To stimulate and support SMEs.
- To provide business management training for business entrepreneurs.
- To create gender sensitivity within the population served.
- To provide skills on export trade.
Management
The apex organ that governs BEST is the annual general meeting. Under the AGM there is board of Directors. Day to day operations is under the employed manager.
Staff
BEST has experienced staff equipped with training skills in Business and Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management (HRM), Business Consultancy, Export Trade and Gender.
